Nail Technology Course

Nail Technology Course - 600 hours

The course will teach you everything you will need to become a successful nail tech professional. 

You will learn Mani, Pedi, Soft Gel, Acrylic, Hard Gel, Dipping Powder, Après Gel-X, Poly Gel, E-Filing, Basic and Advance Nail Art, and much more!  

 

New Enrollment Start Dates

Classes begin every Monday. If Monday falls on a holiday, classes will begin on Tuesday instead.

 

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 17 years of age.  

  • Provide proof of secondary education such as a high school diploma, a GED certificate, a transcript showing secondary school completion, or a state certification of home-school completion.

  • Valid SS# or ITIN letter.  

  • Valid government issued Photo ID, DL, Passport.

  • A completed and signed pre-enrollment check list.

  • A completed and signed enrollment agreement.

  • Submit required fees.

Foreign high school diplomas must be accompanied by a certified English translation, if applicable, and a credential evaluation from a recognized evaluation service confirming equivalency to a U.S. high school diploma. The Institution reserves the right to verify the validity of any high school diploma or equivalent and may request additional documentation if the credential appears invalid or from an unrecognized institution.

Prestige Nail School will accept hours from previous training or from another institution only if the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology recognizes the hours.  Student must obtain a certificate of hours from Nevada Cosmetology Board showing hours that have been approved for transfer. Transfer hours from another institution that are accepted toward the student’s educational program are counted as both attempted and completed hours.

 

If a student has been withdrawn from school, he/she must be cleared through the Director to restart. Rescheduling of classes and a new starting date will be provided by the Admissions Office. Re-entry fee: $100. Re-entering students will return under the same Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status held at the time of withdrawal.

Enrollment is not considered complete until all required documentation and fees have been received and approved.

Applicants who meet all admission criteria and complete the enrollment process will receive a written acceptance notice. 

 

The Institution reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant for reasons including, but not limited to: failure to meet admission requirements; submission of false or misleading information; documented conduct that poses a direct threat to the health, safety, or welfare of students, staff, or the learning environment; or inability to meet financial obligations. All denial decisions are final unless otherwise determined by the Institution.

Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.  

  • Proof of Completion of 10th grade or higher, GED or its equivalent.  Foreign diplomas must be translated by ATA into English.

  • Valid SS# or ITIN.  

  • Valid Government issued ID or DL.

  • Completed 600 hours of Nail Technology Course.

  • Pass Practical, Theory & State Law Exams

Classes Hours

Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Lunch is 12:00pm to 12:30pm

 

The program is divided into two main components:  THEORY and PRACTICAL Training.

 

THEORY classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and follow a structured schedule. Each topic is covered at least three times throughout the course. Please refer to the Theory Schedule/Curriculum for details.

CLASS-WIDE PRACTICAL DEMONSTRATIONS are held Monday through Friday from 10:15 AM to 12:00 PM and follow a structured schedule. Each topic is also covered at least three times. Please refer to the Theory Schedule for details.

INDIVIDUAL PRACTICAL TRAININGS are conducted Monday through Friday and progresses based on each student’s pace. Skills advance weekly, and students may progress faster with instructor approval. Please refer to the Practical Training Schedule.

 

PROGRAM MILESTONES

After completing 100 hours, students may begin servicing real clients and may also practice on friends and family.

After completing 500 hours, students will take the NEVADA PRACTICAL EXAM at the school.

After completing 600 hours and graduating, students may register for the THEORY and STATE LAW exams with the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology (administered at Pearson VUE testing centers) for a $125 fee.  Upon passing both exams, students may apply for their Nail Technology License through the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology (215 & Russell).  License fees: $70 (2 years) or $140 (4 years).  Students may not legally work until licensed.

STEP 1 - CHOOSE SCHEDULE - Tuition is $4,995

FULL TIME:      Minimum attendance of 40 hrs. per week.  Graduate in 15 weeks.

PART TIME 1:  Minimum attendance of 32 hrs. per week.  Graduate in 19 weeks.

PART TIME 2:  Minimum attendance of 24 hrs. per week.  Graduate in 25 weeks.

BRING YOUR OWN: $20 Apron with logo (see BYO item list)

BASIC KIT: $350 (see picture for kit details)

PRO KIT:  $800 (see picture for kit details)

 

STEP 3 - CHOOSE BOOK (Non-Refundable once opened)

Milady Standard Nail Tech & Foundations 8th edition: $200 or you can bring your own.

 

STEP 4 - TOTAL COST

The total cost of the Nail Technology Program is based on the student’s selection of kit options. The following represents the estimated total program cost.  Students may provide their own book; however, for cost disclosure purposes, the standard book cost is included in the total program cost.

PAYMENT

Tuition may be paid in 1, 2, 3, or 4 payments.  Payments may be made by cash, check, or credit card.

A 3% convenience fee applies to all debit and credit card transactions. Students are responsible for ensuring all tuition and fees are paid in full by the specified due date. The school reserves the right to assess a $100 late fee for any past-due payments. A $100 fee will be charged for any returned (NSF) checks.
